The two of us first got acquainted on the dating site OkCupid. After trading several hundred messages and more than 70,000 words online, we met in person at the University of Maryland's day-long "Dart of War" event, in which participants armed themselves with Nerf blasters to fight off zombie hordes. We discovered our zombie-killing chemistry was unparalleled and soon decided to see what other sorts of chemistry we might have. After just over a year of tofu dinners, ridiculous movies, and outdoor adventures, Tevis made the move to Towson. A year and a half later, Melissa's grandmother popped a question we both had on our minds, and we began plans for our wedding.

A. The event is semiformal, but anything that makes you feel fabulous will be great. Get out your dress shirts, your ties, your fancy dresses, and don't be afraid to wear bright colors. The ceremony will be outdoors, so stiletto-wearers, take note (and maybe find some heel-savers, or flats). Q. Should I bring my camera? A. If you'd like to take pictures, please feel free--but please wait until after the ceremony is over to bring out your camera! Q. What's parking going to be like? A. ThorpeWood staff will help direct you to the parking spots near the Pine Cathedral. If you need mobility assistance, just let us know! And beware of GPS directions, they may be misleading. Q. Is there a carpool? A. If you're interested in setting up carpool arrangements, try putting your info up on our Carpool Spreadsheet! |
